Senior DevSecOps Engineer
Location: Westminister, CO.
Hybrid Schedule with 3 days onsite
12 month contract to hire.
Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
We are seeking a seasoned DevSecOps Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the design, development, and management of developer tools across various environments. As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will contribute to architecting solutions for critical products such as CICD platforms, Git infrastructure, and centralized developer systems. This role demands proficiency in Linux system administration, troubleshooting, user account management, and adherence to IT security protocols. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of system administration, cloud technologies, software development methodologies, infrastructure deployment/management tools, CI/CD pipelines, programming languages, and a willingness to engage in development tasks as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, security teams, and management to maintain production systems and address issues concerning services and physical infrastructure.
- Conduct system maintenance activities including log audits, software patching/upgrades, backups, password/certificate management, and user account administration.
- Implement and support software development lifecycle methodologies such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), DevOps, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Deployment (CD).
- Deploy, manage, and provide support for both Windows and Linux servers across physical and virtual environments in alignment with program objectives.
- Provide assistance for engineering applications including JAMA, Syndia, Tasktop, Materials Based System Engineering (MBSE), and Software Factory.
- Manage VMWare Tanzu environments, encompassing support for Kubernetes, GitLab, Artifactory, Vault, and Grafana, along with utilization of Ansible for automation.
- Administer DevSecOps tools such as Atlassian Tools, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
- Facilitate the deployment of new instances, enhancements, and upgrades for these applications within classified environments.
- Maintain regular and predictable work schedules while fostering effective working relationships within the organization and across various business units.
Working Conditions:
- This role primarily operates in an office environment.
- Regular on-site engagement is required, with at least three or more days per week at the primary work location. Occasional travel between company campuses and other non-company sites may be necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
- Higher-level degrees (e.g., Master's or Ph.D.) may substitute for related experience.
- Relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of experience.
- Active US citizenship and eligibility to obtain a TS/SCI CI Polygraph clearance.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient troubleshooting abilities across various domains including operating systems, applications, and networks.
- Customer-centric mindset with excellent communication, collaboration, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Linux server management, scripting, and support, with expertise in Ansible.
- Experience working in specialized network environments such as air-gapped or restricted access setups.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) principles and cloud-based technologies including AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of VMWare technologies including vSphere ESXI, vCenter, vRealize Operations Manager, Tanzu, and NSX.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as KMS, VPC, LBs, IAM Roles, Firewall, Security Groups, S3, EC2, SQS, SNS, ElastiCache, Workspaces, and RDS.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, Kubernetes, GitLab, and Fortify.
- Understanding of DoD 8570 compliance requirements.
