We seek to hire an individual with an extensive experience and understanding of software development with emphasis in setting up, maintaining, and evolving AWS infrastructure for IoT devices and Web-based data applications. Position Summary and Responsibilities
Senior Software Engineer to support our Web-Based and Desktop Data Distribution platforms. We seek to hire an individual with an extensive experience and understanding of software development with emphasis in setting up, maintaining, and evolving AWS infrastructure for IoT devices and Web-based data applications. The candidate will have first-hand experience with AWS infrastructure and AWS computing, storage, and transfer services. This includes practical experience developing and implementing statistical models for generating graphical information in data applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Design, write software code, and complete programming for graphical user interfaces for Linux-based, multi-tier, database-driven Web and Cloud-based applications.
- Architect and develop web-based and desktop software applications using C/C++, Python, Java, Javascript/NodeJS, TypeScript, C#, HTML, CSS, MySQL, PostgreSQL for Linux and Windows platforms.
- Design and write software code for AWS Infrastructure and AWS Cloud core services.
- Set up, maintain and evolve the security and scalability of the cloud infrastructure of various Web and desk applications.
- Architect, develop and maintain critical C/C++/C#, .NET Core/Java applications and AWS Cloud Services in Cloud architecture, Cloud formation, Amazon web services (EC2, IAM, ECS, S3, RDS, Cloud Watch, ELB, VPC, Route53), Lambda, and Elastic Beanstalk.
- Participate in the testing, review, analysis, debugging, and certification of software.
- Prepare and review documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
- Act as a technical reviewer of existing designs and provides input for documentation of new or existing programs; integrates software with existing systems.
- May interface with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications and briefs others on deliverables, status, and progress.
- Support, maintain, and document software functionality; documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
- Propose concepts for improvements to existing techniques, provides application support to other departments and personnel as needed.
- Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation; improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
- Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience and/or training.
- Extensive experience in developing of bidirectional asynchronous communication layer between ground infrastructures of back office and IoT devices via backend service layers.
- Practical hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services, in Cloud architecture, Cloud formation, Amazon web services (EC2, IAM, ECS, S3, RDS, Cloud Watch, ELB, VPC, Route53), Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk.
- Knowledge and understanding statistical techniques, design and implementation of standard statistical models including Time Series SMA, SES, ARIMA, Linear Statistical models, descriptive statistics.
- Advanced understanding of technology stacks in Java 8 (Sun and Zulu SDK), MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, Apache Zookeeper, Apache Ignite, Pandas, numPy, Jupyter Notebooks, Windows, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, network stacks TCP/IP, and UDP.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of various build tools and infrastructure in Cloud, Web or Gateway services based on variety of .NET frameworks versions, .NET Core 3.0, Apache Ignite/Zookeeper, Ruby, Apache Kafka, Apache Zookeeper, Docker, Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM Web Sphere Message Queuing, ElasticSearch.
- Use and understanding of programming languages, standards and tools such as VB6 and VBScripts, Java, Javascripts, C/C++, C#, SQL Developer, Oracle, SmartBear and SoapUI, Windows XP Embedded Target Designer, GraphQL APIs, Digital Certificates, Docker Desktop and AWS CLI.
- Experience and understanding in software development process, methods and tools such as requirements based, feature-based, agile, waterfall and iterative development using IBM Rational Synergy, JIRA, DOORS, Extreme Programming, MS Unit Testing, GIT/GitHub, SVN/TortoiseSVN, and MS Visual Source Safe.
- Development of IoT and embedded software for avionic, networking, and cellular devices is a plus. Understanding and practical use of FAA regulations, Order and Industry standards and Specifications (e.g. DO-178, ARINC 665, ARINC 615, ARINC 618, ARINC 619, ARINC 620) is desirable.
