The Systems Engineer II
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Systems Engineering:
- Architects, implements, and supports infrastructure technologies.
- Contribute to defining systems and creating architectures.
- Contribute to design, implementation, integration, and testing of infrastructure technologies.
- Support the deployment, operations, and maintenance of infrastructure technologies.
- Contribute to identifying migration path needs.
- Assist the team with deployment, operations, and maintenance of infrastructure and Cloud technologies.
- Review existing technologies for vendor support and end-of-life information.
Technical Support:
- Ability to understand internal/external customer technologies and problem resolution techniques.
- Administer, monitor, and support all aspects of a Cloud-based infrastructure environment.
- Troubleshoot and correct medium to high complexity problems that affect the operation of the environment.
- Develop and maintain documentation of the assigned environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of routine techniques, skills, equipment, and procedures.
- Apply knowledge to identify and proactively respond to high complexity system problems.
- Assist in the resolution of medium to high complexity issues affecting Cloud Infrastructure. Areas of responsibility include AWS, Azure, IaaS, and PaaS.
- Work to develop additional technical knowledge and skills.
- Perform system maintenance activities.
- Identify opportunities for more efficient and effective operations through the implementation of automation and monitoring.
- Evaluate reported problems, determine issue severity, and collaborate with other IT departments to resolve the reported issue.
REQUIRED & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field required.
- Knowledge of AD Group Policy, Network technologies, Storage, Security, Virtualization, and other support technologies required.
- 3+ years’ experience with Virtualization Cloud technologies required within the following areas:
- AWS
- Azure
- IaaS
- PaaS
- Linux UNIX Administration
- Microsoft Server
- Containers and Virtualization
- Microsoft O365
- Orchestration Technologies and Techniques
- Infrastructure as Code principles
- Server administration, performance monitoring and optimization, maintenance, security, domain architecture, and upgrades required.
- Administrating a highly complex and dispersed environment required.
- Build and deploy templates and instances in Azure and AWS.
- AWS certifications preferred.
- Azure certifications preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Superior organization skills and multitasking abilities required.
Salary Range: Minimum: $87,500 USD | Maximum: $131,500.00 USD
