POSITION OVERVIEW:

A Systems Administrator Level One at our client installs, tests, monitors, upgrades, troubleshoots and repairs systems, networks and peripherals for the company. The person selected for this role installs updates and performs system backups and recovery; monitors system configuration and maintains data files; manages user account information, including rights, security and systems groups. He/she relies on limited knowledge guidelines and instructions to perform daily job functions and works under immediate supervision and reports to the company’ s Director of IT.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist end users in resolving hardware and software issues
  • Setup workstations and work spaces for internal end users
  • Walk ups, telephone calls, email communication and service tickets
  • Diagnose issues and perform troubleshooting
  • Document, track and monitor the issue to facilitate a timely resolution
  • Rely on established guidelines and instructions to perform daily job functions
  • Maintain asset management, licensing and inventory levels
  • Escalate if beyond workstation and server issue
  • If escalated, provide senior support with all prior troubleshooting steps

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE): 
  • 3 - 5 years of experience and/or associates degree in related area
  • May require a bachelor’ s degree or its equivalent and 5-8 years of relevant experience for the role
  • Working knowledge of office equipment (copiers, fax, printers, etc.) and general office operations
  • Good organizational, written and verbal communication skills a must
  • Good Internet researching skills
  • A+ Certification, recommended
  • Professional, pleasant and patient in demeanor
  • Help reinforce image and professionalism of the IT Services team and the company through polished professional communications and interactions
  • Can demonstrate the ability to transfer knowledge between hardware vendors
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must have demonstrated maturity in judgment
  • Must be flexible, prioritize workload, and have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify, create and maintain a neat infrastructure with a strong attention to detail to create an aesthetically pleasing environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels
  • Highly proficient with Office Suite
  • Proficient in Microsoft OS’ s (Windows 7/8 and Windows Server 2008/2012)
  • Proficient in racking in server rooms
  • Proficient in setting up/configuring workstations
