Job Description
Location: Downtown Nashville, TN.
Compensation: $17 an hr.
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position involves professional staff work of routine to moderate complexity in providing administrative support to an executive. The Administrative Assistant relieves the executive of administrative details and performs related tasks. This role acts as a liaison between the executive's office and various government entities, attends meetings, handles inquiries and requests, and performs general administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to an executive by managing routine and moderately complex tasks.
- Act as a liaison between the executive's office and government departments, agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
- Attend legislative functions and meetings to gather information as required.
- Handle complaints and requests from members of the legislature, other departments, citizens, and employees.
- Attend receptions, luncheons, dinners, and other events for networking and relationship-building.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned clerical and support staff, making personnel recommendations.
- Manage routine correspondence, including composing replies and routing them appropriately.
- Prepare non-routine correspondence upon request.
- Gather information for speeches, staff meetings, and other purposes.
- May take minutes at staff meetings.
- Arrange travel and maintain expense accounts.
- Order office supplies as needed.
- Operate standard office equipment.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Alternatively, qualifying full-time sub-professional, paraprofessional, or professional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of four years.
