Job Description


  1. Understand Business Needs:
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business need and related processes.
    • Analyze existing workflows and identify areas for improvement.

  2. Lead Requirements Definition Sessions:
    • Organize and facilitate sessions with business stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
    • Prepare and guide discussions to elicit requirements effectively.

  3. Document Business Requirements:
    • Translate complex business problems into clear and concise business requirements.
    • Use appropriate documentation formats such as User Stories, BPMN, Wireframes, UML, or PowerPoint.

  4. Confirm Requirements:
    • Document and confirm business requirements with clients to ensure alignment.

Collaboration with Technical Teams:

  1. Communicate Requirements:
    • Effectively communicate business requirements to technical staff and development teams.
    • Assist in designing technical solutions that address business needs.

  2. JIRA Ticketing:
    • Break down business requirements into JIRA tickets (Epics, User Stories, Tasks) with defined Acceptance Criteria.
    • Clarify questions and resolve ambiguities for developers and QA Engineers during development.

  3. Project Management:
    • Ensure software meets project objectives and customer expectations.
    • Serve as the main point of contact between the project team and source system owners.

Business Process Mapping:

  1. Map Business Processes:
    • Understand and document current and desired business processes and user journeys.
    • Propose solutions and identify opportunities for business transformation.

  2. Workshop Facilitation:
    • Lead workshops to gather requirements and communicate results to stakeholders.

Business Test Cycle Planning:
  1. Test Planning:
    • Capture test scenarios and create/maintain test plans for Business User Testing in Zephyr Scale.
    • Assist business users with testing and user story creation/refinement for development handover.

Project Administration:

  1. JIRA Administration:
    • Administer and maintain project workflows in JIRA for effective communication.
    • Collaborate with other BAs and project team members to refine best practices and manage the product backlog.

  2. System Documentation:
    • Maintain system documentation in Confluence for business and development teams.
    • Collaborate with other teams to understand data sources and integration points.

Reporting:
  1. OKRs/KPIs Reporting:
    • Assist in reporting project objectives and key performance indicators to stakeholders.

Time Management:
  1. Manage Time and Priorities:
    • Complete deliverables on time with limited supervision.
    • Manage multiple work streams, assess priorities, and deliver accurate work products.
    • Proactively resolve time conflicts and collaborate with teams across different time zones.

Skills:

  • Essential:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
    • 5+ years of business analysis experience.
    • Experience gathering specifications for web-based applications.
    • Agile team experience.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent technical writing abilities.
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Basic knowledge of databases and web services.
    • Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours for collaboration with global teams.

  • Desirable:
    • Proficiency in JIRA, Zephyr Scale, Business Objects.
    • Familiarity with Lucid/Miro/Digital Whiteboarding Tools.
    • Experience in the entertainment industry or royalties.
    • SAP FI experience.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years as a Business Analyst).
Up to $65/hr
