Civil Engineer

Job Description
Pay rate: $60/hour
Overview:
We are looking for a Civil Engineer that will provide engineering and technical direction to engineering consultants to support the preparation of civil studies, reports, plans, specifications, and construction drawings for the company. Other duties and responsibilities for the role are as follows:
- Review hydrologic and hydraulic engineering studies as Owner’s Representative and provide recommendations for future projects
- Develop equipment and construction specifications
- Provide oversight for utility system capital planning addressing system capacity, end-of-life equipment replacement, and installation of utility infrastructure systems
- Review contract documents and calculations for lift stations, treatment systems, and pipelines
- Possess strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and oversee their projects from a technical perspective
Requirements for the Role:
- Â 7+ years of experience in municipal, consulting, or related civil engineering field
- Current registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California
- Background in heavy civil (grading, land development)
- Experience with design and construction of underground utility systems (pipeline installation)
- Experience with construction administration
- Experience with civil grading design
- Working knowledge of standards and codes applicable to civil utility systems
- Operational experience or background in standards development or plan review
- B.S. Civil Engineering
- Preferred: Experience with data management and editing in Esri ArcGIS
