Job Description


We seek a talented Controls Engineer experienced in automation control system design and development. Your responsibilities include managing projects from start to finish and leading technical aspects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical schematics and equipment controls software.
  • Administer projects, evaluate options, and ensure operational efficiency of the automation control system.
  • Make critical decisions on vendor selection and design objectives to align with business goals.
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical design drawings.
  • Lead maintenance and capital projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and cost control.
  • Configure hardware and program software per specifications.
  • Write user manuals for developed programs.
  • Inspect and evaluate technician work, overseeing system start-ups.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
  • Troubleshoot issues with automated systems and guide maintenance and operations.
  • Research and evaluate supplier products.
  • Manage materials and supplies for the control system.
  • Potentially supervise a team for hardware and software maintenance.
  • Prepare reports and analysis for corrective action and compliance.
  • Approve and initiate requisitions for materials within spending limit.
  • Comply with safety codes and respond to emergencies promptly.
  • Direct staff and utilize resources efficiently.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in automation, preferably in warehousing or manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • Proficiency in PLCs, AC & DC drives, photo-optics, laser scanners, and control system devices.
  • Strong electromechanical maintenance knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CMMS, and AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of HMI or SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with panel design layout and bill of materials.
  • Understanding of performance metrics tracking and reporting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements.
  • Capability to train technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
Schledule6pm-4:30am, Sun-Wed or Tues-Fri
Salary: $85-95K Base + up to 10% bonus
