Data Warehouse Architect

Redondo Beach, CA 90278

Employment Type: Contract/Contract to Hire Job Number: 25323

Job Description

Data Warehouse Architect
Pay Range: $75/hour to $85/hour

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Data Warehouse Architect to design, implement, and optimize our new data warehouse environment. This is a foundational role where you’ll guide tool selection, establish data processes, and build a robust, scalable platform that empowers data-driven decision-making across the organization.

You’ll play a key role in transforming our current reporting capabilities into a modern, integrated data ecosystem — enabling our teams to access, trust, and act on data with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Strategy & Tool Evaluation:
Assess existing data capabilities and evaluate modern data stack tools, including Airbyte, Redshift, and Retool, to identify the best-fit architecture for our needs.

  • Implementation & Architecture:
Design and oversee the end-to-end data warehouse solution — from ingestion (ETL/ELT) to storage, modeling, and reporting layers.

  • Process Development:
Establish best practices for data governance, data quality, security, and documentation to ensure a sustainable, reliable data environment.

  • Data Integration:
Build and maintain data pipelines to integrate multiple sources into the warehouse, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

  • Reporting & BI Optimization:
Enhance Power BI and other BI tools for advanced reporting, dashboarding, and analytics capabilities.

  • Training & Enablement:
Develop documentation and conduct hands-on sessions to empower internal “power users” and foster a data-driven culture.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with business leaders and technical teams to define requirements, provide technical guidance, and align data initiatives with strategic objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing data warehouse solutions.

  • Strong hands-on expertise with data warehousing platforms and ETL/ELT tools (experience with Airbyte preferred).

  • Proficiency in Power BI (highly desired) and/or Tableau for reporting and visualization.

  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and optimization.

  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data governance, and database management principles.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to translate complex data concepts into actionable business insights.

  • Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing data implementations from concept to delivery.

  • A passion for mentoring and teaching, building data literacy within an organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.

  • Experience with Retool and/or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Certifications in data warehousing, cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty), or BI tools.
