Director, Clinical Research Informatics

Job Description
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Health Science, Clinical Research, Bioinformatics, or other related field.
- Graduate degree in informatics, computer science, IT, or related field preferred.
- Experience providing informatics tools/services to academic researchers
Minimum Experience/Accountabilities:
- 7-10 years experience leadership and management of a dept/unit in Health Information Data Management and/or providing informatics tools and services based on such data.
- Experience within an academic medical/healthcare environment preferred.
- Experience implementing and managing clinical trials and research data warehouse preferred.
- Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders at all levels with clarity, poise, maturity, and precision both written and verbally; able to navigate in complex research organizations effectively.
- Excellent time management; able to grasp new technologies, respond quickly to competing priorities, and be comfortable with working with tight deadlines.
- Exceptionally well-organized with demonstrated ability to prioritize and track multiple projects; and maintain well-organized, easily accessible, shared files.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; balancing strategic alignment with technology roadmap and emerging industry trends with practical delivery.
- Excellent time management; able to grasp new technologies, respond quickly to competing priorities, and be comfortable with working with tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organization skills with the ability to handle multiple, high-priority projects with a keen attention to detail. Must be able to help identify process improvement where needed.
- Manages the delivery of CRI services to targeted researchers. Sets and communicates program priorities and performance standards and assesses operations using these criteria.
- Plans and conducts quality assurance reviews and recommends changes as appropriate.
- Develops and maintains automated or manual systems and procedures to facilitate program operations.
- Ensure stakeholder and researcher needs are met with the highest quality customer service and user training.
- Ensures researchers are provided efficient tools and data in a timely manner.
- Identify technical education opportunities to enhance user experience.
- Advises leadership regarding Informatics systems requirements. Facilitates planning and directs the design, installation, modification, and operations of research information systems.
- Reviews and prioritizes systems development requests. Prepares cost estimates for current and proposed projects, reflecting staff and equipment requirements.
- Develops project specifications. Plans and coordinates project schedules and related activities. Directs coding, testing, installation, debugging, and documentation of systems developments and/or enhancements. Plans and recommends changes to the capacity of the operating system or its configuration.
- Directly or indirectly supervises all assigned subordinate staff. Recommends organizational structure, reporting relationships, and staffing needs based on program goals.
Salary:Â $158,000 - $200,000
