Director, EPMO
Salary Range: $150k to $220k 

Our client is searching for a Director for its EPMO team; the ideal candidate for this role must be accountable to the following:

  1. Project/Program Management Office (PMO) Development:
    • Build and manage the PMO for Information Systems (IS), standardizing project execution, providing guidance on project management practices, and ensuring successful project execution.
    • Define and develop enterprise-wide IS project/program management practices, governance standards, processes, and metrics.

  2. Contract Negotiation and Management:
    • Lead IS contract negotiations and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and audits.
    • Oversee drafting, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of contracts. Manage contractual records and documentation.

  3. Finance Management:
    • Manage IS finance and associated staff. Direct annual budgeting and planning processes. Oversee financial reporting and audits.
    • Develop and manage project budgets. Ensure adherence to broader finance and risk requirements.

  4. Project/Program Oversight:
    • Ensure projects/programs are defined, tracked, and communicated effectively. Prioritize projects based on predefined criteria.
    • Ensure timely and within-budget delivery of projects. Incorporate effective change and risk management controls.

  5. Standardization and Integration:
    • Develop and integrate consistent project management standards, best practices, and methodologies organization-wide.
    • Serve as a resource for PMO information and project management tools, policies, processes, and methodologies adoption.

  6. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
    • Act as the primary liaison for PMO with management and subject matter experts. Foster positive relationships with stakeholders.
    • Convene regular review meetings to track and assess project portfolios with leadership and stakeholders.

  7. Staff Management:
    • Directly or indirectly manage all staff assigned to projects. Determine organizational structure, staffing needs, and resource allocation.
    • Review hiring and salary actions. Oversee performance appraisal process and ensure staff utilization across projects.
 
Education, Skills, and Qualifications Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Relevant Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) highly desired.
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification highly desired.
  • Minimum 5 -10 years in portfolio, program, and project management required.
  • Must have 6+ years’ experience managing technical development teams in support of clinical and administrative systems in the healthcare industry. 
  • Experience in Demand Management and Strategic Planning in a formal and/or centralized PMO environment with a working knowledge of Project Management principles. 
  • Ability to evaluate and assess new requests related to technical feasibility, alignment with organizational standards and strategic goals, and technical work effort/availability of resources.
  • Possess strong financial and business acumen, as well as experience providing strategic planning leadership over enterprise technology deployments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to listen and build relationships with colleagues, leadership, customers and partners.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, present to groups of various sizes, and to support both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to, both independently and collaboratively, solve problems, make decisions, and support change, exercise sound judgment, ask questions and be open to the input and decisions of others.
  • Experience building, coaching, and managing an effective and cohesive team in a matrixed structure
  • Hospital/Healthcare experience
