IT Project Manager - Festivals

Salary Range: $110k to $120kÂ
Overview:
The IT Event & Festival Manager is a specialized technical project manager responsible for overseeing the technical infrastructure of temporary festivals and events. This role ensures vendors adhere to the IT scope and best practices, including security standards. They gather requirements from departments, collaborate with the telecom team to secure circuits in advance, and provide on-site support. Additionally, they manage timelines, project scope, and budgets, ensuring seamless execution and post-event evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Scope Development:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather technical requirements for IT infrastructure at each event.
Develop detailed project plans outlining scope, timelines, and resources required for IT distribution.
Coordinate with IT vendors to define and establish an appropriate IT distribution network.
Vendor Adherence to Standards:
Ensure vendors adhere to IT scope, best practices, and security standards.
Review vendor processes and implementations to confirm compliance with security and technical requirements.
Telecom Coordination:
Collaborate with the telecom team to obtain circuits well in advance of the event.
Ensure sufficient and reliable network connectivity during the event.
On-Site IT Support:
Oversee IT infrastructure deployment and configuration, ensuring all systems function properly.
Provide technical support during the event, troubleshooting and resolving IT-related issues promptly.
Vendor Management:
Obtain estimates from IT vendors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to project requirements.
Review estimates with stakeholders and negotiate contracts as needed.
Timeline and Budget Management:
Manage project timelines, ensuring all tasks are completed on schedule.
Develop, monitor, and manage budgets to prevent overruns and ensure efficient resource use.
Post-Event Evaluation and Documentation:
Conduct a thorough post-event evaluation, identifying successes and areas for improvement.
Document all technical details and lessons learned to refine processes for future events.
Calendar and Data Maintenance:
Maintain and update a calendar of events, ensuring key dates and milestones are clearly outlined.
Keep accurate records of previous events to inform future planning.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in technical project management, preferably within the event or festival industry.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and network distribution.
Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
Strong vendor management, negotiation, and budgeting skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Work Environment:
This position may require evening and weekend work, as well as travel to event sites for setup and support.
