Salary Range: $116k to $132k 

Job Summary

As an Infrastructure and Sys Ops Engineer, you will have a central role in developing, deploying, and managing our organization's cloud infrastructure primarily through Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring seamless integration, operation, and peak performance of our cloud-based solutions, aligning with our strategic IT goals. Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Administration and Management: Take part in the administration and management of our Cloud environment, with a focus on Azure and Microsoft 365, and integrate them with on-premise systems. Ensure these environments work well together.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor both Cloud and on-premise infrastructure proactively to ensure optimal performance. Quickly identify, diagnose, and fix problems, maintaining high system reliability and availability.
  • Cloud Services Configuration and Deployment: Set up and deploy Microsoft Cloud services, including creating Azure virtual machines, managing cloud storage options, and ensuring smooth integration with existing on-premise systems.
  • On-Premise Systems Oversight with Monitoring Focus: While we continue our transition to cloud, manage and oversee on-premise IT infrastructure, with a special focus on monitoring solutions like System Center Operations Manager (SCOM). Ensure its smooth operation and alignment with our cloud-based resources.
  • Security Management: Apply strict security protocols across both Microsoft Cloud and on-premise environments. Maintain data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with standards.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery Planning: Create robust backup and disaster recovery strategies for both cloud and on-premise systems, ensuring minimal disruption and continuity of operations.
  • Performance Analysis and Optimization: Regularly assess the performance of both cloud and on-premise systems. Implement improvements to increase efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Technical Support and Collaboration: Provide technical help to colleagues and collaborate with various IT teams to ensure a unified operation of cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keep comprehensive documentation for cloud and on-premise infrastructures. Produce reports on system performance, incident management, and infrastructure updates.
  • Industry Trends and Knowledge Application: Keep up with the latest developments in cloud computing and on-premise technology. Use this knowledge to continually improve our IT infrastructure.
  • SCOM and Monitoring Tool Management: Manage the design, deployment, and management of SCOM and other monitoring tools like Martello IQ/Gizmo for effective IT infrastructure oversight.
  • 24x7 Support Provision: Be ready to provide support around the clock as needed, ensuring continuous operation and fast resolution of critical issues.
Essential Functions of Job:
  • Handle Microsoft Azure services and their connection to on-premise systems.
  • Uphold security standards for Cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Create and manage backup plans for cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Monitor and improve the performance of both cloud and on-premise systems.
  • Plan resource capacity for Cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Use automation to increase efficiency in cloud and on-premise operations.
  • Provide support for Cloud, SCOM, and SCCM issues.
  • Keep up and share developments in Microsoft Cloud, SCOM, and SCCM.
  • Frequently update and configure SCOM and SCCM settings.
Qualifications and Experience 

Required Qualifications: 
  • Microsoft Cloud Experience: At least three years of IT experience with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Cloud technologies, such as Azure and Microsoft 365.
  • Monitoring Solutions Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of SCOM or similar monitoring tools, with proven skills in monitoring IT environments effectively.
  • Windows Server Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Windows Server 2016 or newer, with experience in configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues.
  • Active Directory and Azure AD Knowledge: Solid grasp of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, including domain management, user authentication, and group policy administration.
  • Windows OS Administration: Detailed familiarity with various Windows operating systems, ensuring efficient support and administration.
  • Cloud and Systems Security: General awareness of cloud and systems security best practices, implementing a security-minded approach in IT operations.
  • Customer Service Skills: Outstanding ability to build positive relationships, providing high-quality support and solutions to clients and colleagues.
  • Cloud Monitoring Acumen: Skill in using cloud-based monitoring tools and methods to maintain and improve IT infrastructure performance.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • 5+ years of recent IT experience with a profound grasp of contemporary IT infrastructure, theories, principles, and practices
  • Proficient in Device Management using SCCM/MS Intune
  • Experienced in License management
  • Skilled in running SQL queries to generate reports
  • Capable of utilizing Excel to consolidate data from multiple sources into a single worksheet
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Planner, and Project
  • Knowledgeable about Azure Monitor and Sentinel
Computer/Software Knowledge

Required: Microsoft Windows OS/Server OS/Office Suite experience
Preferred: Azure Infrastructure, Cloud Technology, and Visio Documentation

Education

Preferred:
 Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years relevant work experience. Major (if applicable): Computer Science or Information Technology

License and Certification Preferred: Any of the following are a plus:
  • MCP
  • MCSA
  • MCSE
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate

Work Environment:
  • Current Firm policy is hybrid–working in the office a minimum of three days per week, and working from home the rest of the week (subject to change).
  • Overtime may be required as the job duties demand.
