Job Description

  Senior Network Engineer / Manager Network Engineering & Operations   Profile   Overall responsibility for managing the client’ s network operations and services. Partnering with the IT support team and information security, the Network Engineer is heavily involved with identifying, prioritizing, and resolving critical network related issues that impact business operations. This position will also serve as an Engineer resource and be expected to collaborate extensively with other departments in order to design solutions that meet the needs of our business and our customers. Emphasis on troubleshooting skils   Key Responsibilities  
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing; such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, security devices, etc
  • Plan, implement, verify and troubleshoot local and wide-area enterprise networks
  • “ Hands-on” role; comfortable working as an individual contributor, and an a global group environment
  • Maintain specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
  • Serve as the technical expert in all matters concerning enterprise network design, installation, and maintenance 
  • Work collaboratively with vendors and specialists on advanced network, security and wireless solutions
  • Monitor and report the performance of network components
  • Develop test plans, implementation plans and project timelines for various projects
  • Evaluate new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs
  • Manager Role Only: take lead on handling Production Support issues, triage, and engagement with multiple IT teams
  Skills Technical Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the following system and networking technologies:
    • Cisco routers, firewalls and switches, VOIP (SIP and PSTN), Video, QOS, network monitoring
    • Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls
    • Checkpoint Firewalls
    • F5 LTM/GTM/APM
    • MPLS, OSPF
    • IPv6
  • Apply wide-ranging experience and extensive technical expertise to resolve complex issues
  Soft Skills ·      Able to identify, prioritize and solve complex network-related problems in a complex and dynamic environment ·      Deal with pressure and conflict decisively and effectively ·      Strong analytical and problem solving skills ·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills ·      Develop standards and policies for the department according to best practices Self starter Education and Background Requirements ·      College degree preferred or 8 years related experience.  ·      Professional certifications (CCNP, PAN or other network certifications) is desirable # of Years’ Experience ·      8+ years network experience in progressively advanced roles
