Network Administrator
Salary Range: $73k to $83k ($35 to $40/hour)  Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our client's IT team and support their organization’s mission-critical network infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as a key frontline resource—responsible for troubleshooting network issues, performing proactive maintenance, and contributing to ongoing network infrastructure projects. Your work will be central to ensuring stable, secure, and efficient network performance across multiple sites and teams.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto systems, along with a strong grasp of networking fundamentals and tools. You’ll be comfortable managing a wide range of tasks—from monitoring network health and resolving outages to supporting special events and crafting custom-length Ethernet cables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.

  • Deploy and maintain Wi-Fi networks, including configuration and coverage optimization.

  • Support network infrastructure projects and collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute deployments.

  • Perform IP subnetting, VLAN creation, and protocol configuration.

  • Escalate complex technical issues to the Network Engineering team as needed.

  • Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of network hardware assets.

  • Assist with cable management and custom-length Ethernet cable creation.

  • Provide support for network-related aspects of events and special projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • CompTIA Network+ certification required.

  • 3–5 years of network administration experience, particularly with Cisco, Meraki, and Palo Alto systems.

  • Strong understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and standard networking protocols.

  • Experience using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Manage Engine, Wireshark, Fiddler, and PuTTY.

  • Demonstrated experience with configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting switches, routers, and wireless access points.

  • Proven ability to track and manage network hardware and documentation effectively.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Working knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, and QoS.

  • Ability to create and manage detailed network documentation using tools like Microsoft Visio or equivalents.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and growth in the field of network engineering.
