Piping Designer

Job Description
Job Description A Designer primary responsibility is to create technical drawings to help design and build aircraft, bridges and other engineering, manufacturing or architectural projects.
The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of piping system alignment, stationing, appurtenances and be proficient in modeling 3D piping components in AutoCAD Plant 3D. More specifically, their daily duties include:
- Using CAD software, such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks, to prepare technical drawings
- Working with engineers and other professionals to produce drawings that meet their specifications
- Writing related technical documents such as material lists and cost estimates
- Ensuring that all drawings are accurate and meet industry standards
- Maintaining a library of standard drawing templates
- Updating existing drawings as new information becomes available
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to convey technical information effectively.
- Learning Orientation: Desire and ability to learn new skills and work on multidiscipline design projects.
- CAD Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of CAD design tools, specifically AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Engineering Expertise: Understanding of earthwork design, site drainage, and grading for site development.
- Site Visits and Travel: Ability to visit project sites for data gathering and occasional travel to client facilities.
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering.
- 2-5 years of related experience in civil engineering.
- Desired EIT certification with the goal of sitting for the California PE exam.
Salary: $65,000 - $73,500
