Job Description
Lead DevSecOps Engineer
Pay Range: $70/hour to $75/hour
The Role:
You will help standardize and enhance DevOps and security practices for our client. As a Lead DevSecOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of our client's applications and infrastructure and will coordinate the team members effort across different engagements. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust security measures, streamline CI/CD pipelines, and proactively address vulnerabilities. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the provisioning and configuration of AWS resources using Infrastructure as Code.
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify and analyze workloads, and define and document their threat models.
- Regularly assess and patch vulnerabilities in operating systems, application dependencies, and third-party solutions.
- Oversee the development of automated solutions for vulnerability detection and patch deployment.
- Enhance logging and metrics instrumentation across applications and infrastructure.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems and processes.
- Advocate for and implement continuous improvements in infrastructure and security practices and processes.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of DevSecOps engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience leading DevSecOps teams.
- 4+ years of AWS production experience.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code with tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation, CloudFormation preferred.
- Proficient in Git for version control.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools and deployment automation, experience with AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy preferred.
- Experience with virtualizing or containerizing applications, such as creating AMIs or docker images.
- Production experience with observability tools like Cloudwatch, Datadog or Dynatrace.
- Production experience with AWS resources and their best practices.
- Experience with scripting languages, e.g., Bash, Python for automating operations.
