Job Description

Principal Network Engineer – F5 & Enterprise Networking

Served as the senior technical authority for enterprise network architecture, application delivery, and infrastructure modernization across large-scale production environments. Provided engineering leadership, technical mentorship, and strategic direction for network operations while ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of mission-critical services.
Core Responsibilities
  • Led the design, evolution, and long-term strategy of enterprise network infrastructure, establishing architecture standards, engineering best practices, and operational roadmaps.
  • Acted as the primary technical resource for complex networking initiatives, mentoring engineers and providing guidance on architecture, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Maintained high levels of network availability, performance, resiliency, and operational compliance through proactive engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Partnered with infrastructure, security, application, and vendor teams to deliver scalable networking solutions aligned with business and technical objectives.
  • Evaluated business and application requirements, translating them into secure, resilient, and highly available network designs.
  • Supported enterprise security initiatives by protecting critical infrastructure, enforcing operational standards, and maintaining the integrity of network services.
Technical Leadership
  • Designed, implemented, and administered F5 BIG-IP platforms, including LTM, APM, ASM, and GTM/DNS, supporting highly available application delivery, secure access, and traffic management services.
  • Developed advanced F5 iRules, traffic policies, SSL offload configurations, authentication workflows, and application optimization solutions to improve performance, availability, and security.
  • Engineered global and local load balancing architectures utilizing F5 GTM/DNS alongside cloud-based traffic distribution and DNS technologies to enhance resiliency, disaster recovery, and application availability.
  • Designed and maintained enterprise DNS infrastructure supporting hybrid cloud deployments and geographically distributed data centers while ensuring high availability and operational consistency.
  • Provided technical leadership for application delivery, hybrid cloud networking, and infrastructure modernization initiatives across cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Planned and executed complex data center migrations and network transformation projects with minimal service disruption.
  • Configured, implemented, and supported enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPN connectivity, load balancing, server networking, and telecommunications services.
  • Designed and maintained highly available routing environments utilizing dynamic routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
  • Applied advanced knowledge of the OSI model, Ethernet technologies, TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, and enterprise network design principles to support large-scale environments.
  • Designed resilient disaster recovery and business continuity networking solutions to support critical business operations.
Professional Qualifications
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure in complex production environments.
  • Proven success leading large-scale networking initiatives, infrastructure modernization efforts, and cross-functional engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of application delivery, network security, cloud networking, and software-defined infrastructure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting technical solutions to engineering teams, leadership, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience with IT service management practices, vendor engagement, and enterprise technology planning.
  • Background supporting software-defined networking, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and enterprise application delivery technologies.
