Purchasing Coordinator
Salary Range: $75k to $85k 

Position Overview
A high-tech manufacturing organization is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support procurement operations, supplier management, and inventory planning within a complex semiconductor environment.

This role requires independent judgment in supplier evaluation, pricing negotiations, and material planning, along with strong cross-functional collaboration across engineering, operations, and service teams.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Management
  • Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, RFQs, and change orders
  • Evaluate supplier quotations based on cost, lead time, and technical requirements
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and service terms with suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, quality standards, and applicable regulations
  • Reconcile purchase orders, receipts, and invoices; resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audit readiness
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems and procurement portals for order management and reporting

Inventory and Material Planning
  • Analyze inventory levels and consumption trends to forecast material needs
  • Recommend replenishment strategies, safety stock levels, and process improvements
  • Coordinate logistics and material distribution to optimize cost and efficiency
  • Partner with planning and operations teams to align inventory with production and service requirements
  • Support engineering teams with sourcing for prototypes and new product development

Supplier Relationship Management
  • Act as primary point of contact for supplier communications and issue resolution
  • Monitor supplier performance including delivery, quality, and cost metrics
  • Lead cost-reduction initiatives and pricing discussions
  • Resolve supply chain issues to ensure continuity of materials
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, finance, sales, and service teams
  • Provide guidance on sourcing strategies, supplier capabilities, and material availability
  • Coordinate with accounting on invoice processing and discrepancy resolution

Reporting and Documentation
  • Maintain vendor records and material data within ERP/MRP systems
  • Prepare reports, cost analyses, and performance summaries
  • Develop Excel models, charts, and presentations to support decision-making

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support supplier negotiations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in audits and compliance reviews
  • Provide team support during high-volume periods or absences
  • Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
  • 2–4 years of purchasing or supply chain experience
  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing environments preferred
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Technical Skills
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with procurement and inventory management tools

Work Environment
  • Hybrid work model combining remote and onsite collaboration
  • Occasional travel may be required, including potential international coordination
  • Interaction with global teams across multiple time zones
  • May require occasional extended hours or weekend support based on business needs
