Role: Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) - Cardiothoracic Surgery
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) specializing in cardiothoracic surgery to join a dynamic, innovative hospital team dedicated to patient-centered care. This full-time role involves assisting surgeons during cardiac procedures, performing both scrub and circulating duties, and ensuring patient safety through skilled perioperative care.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as first assistant to surgeons in cardiothoracic operations, following standardized protocols.
- Participate in preoperative assessments and planning.
- Perform advanced perioperative duties, including circulating, scrubbing, and assembling case carts.
- Ensure patient safety by managing instruments, controlling bleeding, suturing tissues, and placing surgical drains as needed.
- Collaborate with surgeons and clinical staff for optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain clinical competence and contribute to an on-call rotation.
- RN license in California (required)
- Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) and Certified RNFA
- BLS and ACLS certifications (must be current)
- At least 2-5 years of diverse operating room experience, particularly in cardiovascular surgery.
- Salary: $101,000 - $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 for qualified candidates.
