Position Summary:
The Renewable Energy Automation Engineer for BESS, NIS – Americas will assist in Develop Power Conversion System Controller for Energy Storage System this includes

- Model complex electrical systems using static, RMS and EMT simulation tools.
- Simulate and study the behavior of converters integrated into an extended electrical network.

- Determine control software and system hardware requirements for products based on current market needs, grid code requirements.

- Analysis and validation of study results by comparing them with real measurements.
- Model validation and monitoring of approval and certification files according to international standards.

- Standardize suite for grid-scale market applications by designing execution sequences, application parameters, control block diagrams, and then facilitate software implementation for:

- Volt-VAR Compensation Mode
- Dynamic Transfer
- Frequency Compensation Mode
- Black Start
- Islanded Operation
- Balance of Plant
- Round Trip Efficiency

- Good understanding of energy storage and static conversion systems.

- Understanding of the fundamental differences between static, RMS and EMT electrical simulation environments.
- Understanding of one or more simulation tools among the following software: Simulink EMTP / PSCAD / PowerFactory / PSSE / PLECS / PSIM
- Programming IEC 61131-3 Automation Experience a plus, ISaGRAF or CODESYS
- Programming of Industrial Managed Network Switches, Cisco, Hirschmann, etc.
- Understanding of IEEE 1547, UL 1741 SA/SB, UL 9540 standards
- Experience with Grid Scale Energy Storage or Solar Inverters, System Applications and Configuration
- Experience with Inverter programming
- Experience with Battery Systems Applications, C rate, SOC, BMS communication protocols, Round Trip Efficiency, etc.
- BSEE or MSEE preferred
- PE License preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience in automation design in utility scale renewable energies EPC projects.
