Senior BI / Analytics Engineer Salary Range: $150k to $165k 
A growing organization is building its modern data and analytics foundation and is seeking a Senior BI / Analytics Engineer to help drive its ELT, data warehousing, and business intelligence initiatives. This role combines deep expertise in dbt, Snowflake, Power BI, and modern ingestion tools to deliver clean, trusted, analytics-ready data and high-impact dashboards across the organization.
Role Overview
The Senior BI / Analytics Engineer will be responsible for designing and managing scalable data models, orchestrating transformation workflows, ensuring data quality, and delivering actionable insights to business stakeholders. This individual will work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Compliance teams to standardize KPIs and enable data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities Semantic Layer & Data Modeling

  • Develop and maintain the semantic layer supporting operational and executive dashboards.

  • Create dimensional and subject-area data models aligned with business domains (e.g., CRM, sales funnel, marketing lifecycle, call center performance, compliance, finance).

  • Define and implement standardized KPIs, metrics, and calculation logic.
Data Transformation & ELT Orchestration

  • Build and refine dbt transformation models (staging, core, and mart layers).

  • Implement robust testing frameworks including schema, data, and business logic validation.

  • Manage job scheduling and orchestration within dbt.

  • Ensure reliable ingestion? transformation? delivery workflows.
Snowflake Configuration & Operations

  • Configure and manage Snowflake warehouses, roles, and resource monitors.

  • Implement cost optimization and performance tuning strategies.

  • Set up and maintain connectors to CRM, marketing automation, and financial systems.

  • Troubleshoot performance issues and ensure efficient ELT design.
Data Ingestion

  • Configure and maintain modern ingestion connectors (e.g., Fivetran).

  • Implement API-based ingestion where required.

  • Monitor connector health, schema drift, and incremental load processes.
Analytics & Dashboard Development

  • Design, develop, and deliver dashboards that enable decision-making across business functions.

  • Develop advanced semantic models and calculations (e.g., DAX in Power BI).

  • Support user enablement through training and documentation.
Data Quality & Governance

  • Implement automated data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting.

  • Maintain data lineage across transformation and reporting layers.

  • Reconcile and resolve discrepancies across CRM, marketing, finance, and operational systems.

  • Support governance and access control best practices.
Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in BI Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or ELT-focused roles.

  • Strong hands-on experience with dbt (modeling, testing, documentation, scheduling).

  • Deep Snowflake expertise including warehouse configuration, performance tuning, cost optimization, and data integrations.

  • Advanced Power BI experience including semantic modeling, DAX, dataflows, row-level security, and governance.

  • Experience with modern ingestion tools (e.g., Fivetran) and API-based data ingestion.

  • Strong SQL skills and dimensional modeling fundamentals.

  • Experience working with CRM, marketing automation, financial, and call-center systems.

  • Proven experience in data discovery, cleansing, reconciliation, and modeling across multiple source systems.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming experience (e.g., Python, C#, or similar).

  • Experience with Azure data services (functions, API gateway, etc.).

  • Background in regulated or compliance-focused industries.

  • Familiarity with Power BI administration and tenant governance.
