Senior Cloud Engineer

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join a mature and evolving IT organization. This role requires a deep understanding of how infrastructure, identity, security, and cloud services work together to support a complex enterprise environment. The ideal candidate is process-driven, design-focused, and data-oriented—someone who values documentation, architectural rigor, and measurable outcomes before delivering solutions.
This is a hands-on, senior-level role with meaningful influence over cloud strategy, architecture, and operational maturity.
Key Responsibilities Cloud Architecture & Implementation

Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient hybrid cloud solutions across on-premises, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365 environments.

Develop and evolve cloud architecture strategies aligned with business objectives, operational needs, and compliance requirements.

Architect complex file systems and data management solutions to optimize performance, security, and accessibility.

Implement and manage data governance and protection technologies in partnership with information security teams (e.g., Microsoft Purview, DLP, Varonis).

Define and enforce data protection policies, access controls, and auditing mechanisms across enterprise systems.

Support regulatory and internal compliance initiatives related to data security and governance.

Design and enhance network infrastructure and application architectures to improve reliability, performance, and end-user experience.

Partner closely with security teams to ensure cloud solutions are secure, compliant, and resilient against evolving threats.

Use data-driven insights to optimize cloud performance, cost, and reliability.

Implement monitoring, alerting, and reporting solutions to proactively manage cloud resources.

Continuously assess the environment and recommend improvements based on metrics and operational trends.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including IT, security, and business teams to align cloud initiatives with organizational goals.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to IT staff on cloud architecture, best practices, and operational standards.

Serve as a trusted technical advisor for cloud-related initiatives.
Required Qualifications

Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud, and Microsoft 365 environments

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Nerdio experience

Microsoft Intune administration (Autopilot, Autopatch, Intune policies)

Azure / Entra ID Identity and Access Management
-
Privileged Identity Management (PIM)

Conditional Access policies
-
Microsoft Authenticator
-
-
Azure virtual networking, including VNets, peering, and routing
-
Azure Site Recovery and/or Zerto experience
