Job Description
Position: Software Development Engineer
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement software fixes, improvements, and new systems and applications.
- Drive the development of components and major fixes, leading the team on projects using new or existing technologies.
- Perform upgrades of vendor software including dry runs, testing, and implementation.
- Develop technical solutions meeting specifications and enhancing future developments.
- Design specifications and develop components for projects or fixes.
- Write and execute unit and functional tests, ensuring code quality.
- Perform programming, testing, and debugging of applications or fixes.
- Create installation and maintenance protocols, documentation, and tools.
- Participate in setting architectural directions for software projects.
- Create and maintain technical components, templates, and troubleshoot end-to-end issues.
- Collaborate with other technical groups and provide level 3 troubleshooting.
- Act as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced developers.
- Lead issue resolution, root cause analysis, and recommend process and technology improvements.
- Contribute to security remediations.
Required Experience and Technologies:
- 5-7 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing scalable software systems and client-facing web applications in Supply Chain ERP systems.
- Java/Spring Batch
- PL/SQL development (Oracle DB)
- Development Tools: Eclipse, Git, CI/CD, Maven, Jenkins
- JSON Messaging
- Web Services (SOAP & REST)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Software Performance Optimization (memory, CPU, scaling, etc...)
Angular/Front-end Experience:
- AngularJS (v1) for creating/updating functionality, debugging, and code reviews
- Oracle (table creation/update, basic SQL queries)
- Java for web services code, remote debugging, and code reviews
- Spring framework (boot, batch, etc)
- UI/UX design experience
- Ability to conceptualize and develop ideas from concept to completion
Soft Skills & Other Requirements:
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-organized, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Mentorship and guidance abilities.
- Experience working in virtual teams across multiple sites.
- Excellent time management skills.
Preferred:
- AWS experience
- Experience with dockerized applications
- Familiarity with Vocollect voice picking software
- Experience with Supply Chain Suites (e.g., Oracle Retail, SRAI GOLD)
Pay: $87/hr
